Hours
Part-time, with courses planned around your availability. Teaching sessions generally take place during daytime or evening hours.

Salary
Up to £28.78 per hour (depending on your level of teaching qualification and the course level)

About the Role
Join our dedicated team at Havering Adult College and make a meaningful difference by sharing your skills and industry experience. This role involves teaching Level 1, Level 2, and Level 3 Early Years and Teaching Assistant courses. You will prepare and deliver tailored teaching and learning activities that meet the individual needs of learners, helping them develop their skills, knowledge, and understanding. Responsibilities include conducting pre-course interviews to ensure appropriate class placement, assessing learners, providing constructive feedback, and maintaining up-to-date assessment records. You will be expected to take initiative in researching and producing teaching resources, including the use of e-learning platforms, and to continuously develop and apply innovative teaching methods to engage and motivate learners. A strong understanding of Equality and Diversity and safeguarding requirements for children and vulnerable adults is essential. Successful candidates will be responsible for their own travel to and from delivery centres.

Experience
- Extensive experience teaching Vocational Teaching Assistant/Early Years qualifications
- Experience using MS Office applications (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook)
- Experience mentoring learners
- Experience working with diverse and challenging learner groups (desirable)
- Experience undertaking internal quality assurance (desirable)

Qualifications
- A Level 4 Teaching Qualification for post-compulsory settings (e.g. CTLLS or CET) as a minimum*
- Assessor certificate – TAQA Level 3 or equivalent
- IQA certificate – TAQA Level 4 or equivalent (desirable)
- GCSE Grade 9-5 in English and Maths (or equivalent)
- Full UK driving licence
- Consideration will be given to exceptional applicants willing to gain their Teaching Qualification and Assessor Certificate if successful
