About the Role
The London Borough of Enfield is recruiting a First Response Officer for a fixed term period of up to 12 months, with the possibility of a 12 month extension, to provide excellent front line housing management services to the residents of the borough. Our First Response Officers are the ambassadors of the Housing Management Service and we want inspired, committed people to make a positive difference in the lives of individuals and communities across the borough. In this new and exciting role, you will be working as part of a team delivering the tenancy and property management service to over 15,000 council properties. You will be working in geographic patches consisting of circa 1,500 properties, and the role will be fast paced and varied, seeking to resolve low level casework at first point of contact, which will include low level anti-social behaviour. The role will also involve triaging higher risk cases and where required referring on to the Resident Relationship Team for more complex cases. Resident safety is a key part of this work; you will be conducting welfare checks with residents, creating support plans, Person Centered Risk Assessments, and Personal Evacuation plans. You will also investigate tenancy fraud and conduct regular estate and block inspections to ensure that the council continues to meet our statutory obligations, whilst improving the quality of life for our residents. In this role, you will be liaising directly with a wide range of stakeholders including MPs, Councillors, community groups, support services, the police, local businesses and charities. You will also be actively involved in the council’s resident engagement strategy, by leading resident focused estate walkabouts, delivering on agreed actions to transform our estates, and providing feedback to resident representatives, residents groups and ward councillors, on outcomes and resolutions to estate issues. To be successful in this role, you will be a resilient individual with a can-do attitude, you will have experience gained working in a similar role and a broad understanding of housing issues and estates management. You will be well organised and used to working within a target driven environment, have excellent communication skills, both written and verbal, and you must be confident working with stakeholders at all levels. For this role, you will be required to travel between locations and be prepared to work evenings and some weekends, as and where the service demands.
