About the Role
Doctor Care Anywhere Group plc (DCA) is the UK’s largest private provider of telehealth services, working with insurers, healthcare providers and corporate customers to deliver digitally enabled telehealth services on its proprietary platform. DCA is committed to providing the best possible patient experience and clinical care through evidence-based, digitally enabled pathways. The company aims to be the UK market leader in digitally enabled primary care, addressing the evolving health needs of patients and payors in a fast-changing environment.

As a Full Stack Engineer at Doctor Care Anywhere, you will design, build, and run features across the entire stack—from data model and API through to the user interface. With 5 to 6 years of hands-on experience, you will own your work end to end and bring a proven track record of using AI throughout the software development lifecycle to accelerate delivery, improve safety, and enhance quality. You will help shape how the wider engineering team adopts AI-assisted development responsibly and measurably, while maintaining high standards for security, performance, and maintainability in a regulated healthcare environment.

Requirements

Experience
- 5 to 6 years of professional software engineering experience building and running production systems.
- Demonstrable full stack delivery, comfortable owning features across backend, frontend, data, and deployment.
- Practical experience introducing or scaling AI tooling within an engineering workflow.
- Familiarity with AI coding assistants and agentic tooling (e.g. GitHub Copilot, Claude Code, Cursor) and a clear understanding of their appropriate use.
- Strong experience in a modern backend language and framework such as C#/.NET, Node.js, Python, or Go.
- Sound API design skills (REST or GraphQL) and experience with relational and ideally caching or NoSQL data stores.
- Solid experience with a modern JavaScript framework (React and TypeScript preferred) and an eye for usable, accessible interfaces.
- Comfortable with cloud platforms (Azure preferred), CI/CD pipelines, and infrastructure as code.
- A pragmatic approach to security, performance, and technical debt.
- Excellent communication skills and ability to collaborate effectively across teams.

About you
- Passionate about embedding AI into everyday engineering practices including coding, code review, test generation, and documentation.
- Able to define good practices for AI-assisted development balancing automation with human judgement.
- Committed to delivering secure, maintainable, and high-quality software in a regulated healthcare environment.
- Skilled at diagnosing and resolving production issues using observability and telemetry.
- Collaborative mindset, partnering with product, design, and engineering teams to deliver working software.
- Mentor and support other engineers to raise team capability.
- Advocate for continuous improvement, Agile ways of working, and staying current with modern engineering and AI developments.

Qualifications
Nice to have:
- Experience in healthcare or other regulated industries with strong data protection and compliance requirements.
- Exposure to identity and access standards such as OAuth2, OIDC, SAML.
- Experience with event-driven or real-time systems (messaging, WebSockets, streaming).
- Familiarity with observability tooling like Application Insights or OpenTelemetry.
- Contributions to AI governance or engineering standards at team or organizational level.
