About the Role
Are you passionate about helping others? Do you have 12+ months of UK-based post-registration experience as an NMC registered nurse (RGN, RMN, RNLD) or HCPC registered physiotherapist or occupational therapist? Are you interested in a role that allows you to use your clinical skills in a different way whilst maintaining your clinical registration? Joining Ingeus UK as a Functional Assessor offers you the opportunity to work within a welcoming and skilled team, supported by specialist training from our Learning Academy. This includes one-to-one coaching, mentoring, and workshops to guide you towards achieving full Department for Work and Pensions (DWP) accreditation.
Our culture values dignity and respect, ensuring every individual feels comfortable, confident, and recognised for their contributions. We provide the tools and support needed for a smooth transition into your new role, including supported virtual and self-directed Continuing Professional Development (CPD). You will also have access to a wide range of development opportunities, such as roles in Training Lead, Quality Lead, and Clinical Practice Lead positions, as well as opportunities across other clinical and healthcare business areas within the wider APM Group.
As a Functional Assessor, your primary responsibilities will include conducting health and disability assessments to understand each person’s unique needs, carrying out Work Capability Assessments (WCA) which evaluate physical, mental, intellectual, and cognitive functions to determine work capability, preparing detailed reports and recommendations for submission to the DWP, and collaborating with colleagues to provide high-quality service to claimants while contributing to the continuous improvement of health assessment services in the UK.
Experience
At least 12 months post-registration experience gained in the UK as an NMC registered nurse (RGN, RMN, RNLD) or HCPC registered physiotherapist or occupational therapist. Experience treating a wide range of physical and mental health conditions is preferred.
About you
Strong critical analysis and logical thinking skills. Proficient in IT tools for documentation and communication. Passionate about helping others and committed to maintaining clinical registration. Able to work collaboratively within a team and contribute to service excellence.
Qualifications
Current registration with NMC or HCPC as a nurse, physiotherapist, or occupational therapist. Full DWP accreditation will be supported through training and mentoring.
