About the Role

This role allows you to use your clinical skills in a different way while maintaining your clinical registration. As a Functional Assessor, your primary responsibilities will include conducting health and disability assessments to understand individual needs, carrying out Work Capability Assessments (WCA) which evaluate physical, mental, intellectual, and cognitive functions to determine work capability, preparing detailed reports and recommendations for submission to the Department of Work and Pensions, and collaborating with colleagues to deliver high-quality services and contribute to continuous improvement of health assessment services in the UK.
Experience
At least 12 months of UK-based post-registration experience as an NMC registered nurse (RGN) or HCPC registered physiotherapist or occupational therapist. Experience treating a wide range of physical and mental health conditions is preferred.
About you
Strong critical analysis and logical thinking skills. Proficiency in IT tools for documentation and communication. Passionate about helping others and interested in applying clinical skills in a new context while maintaining clinical registration.
Qualifications
Current registration with NMC or HCPC as a nurse, physiotherapist, or occupational therapist. Full DWP accreditation will be supported through training after joining.
