About the Role
Join Synnovis, the UK’s leading and fastest growing pathology company, at a pivotal point in the transformation of genomic medicine across South East London. We are building a future-ready Genomics service combining a new enterprise LIMS, an in-house Whole Genome Sequencing (WGS) capability, purpose-designed laboratory facilities, and redesigned end-to-end pathways. This is a nationally significant programme aimed at improving patient safety, reducing manual work, strengthening auditability, and creating a platform for future growth and innovation.

As Genomics Programme Manager, you will provide strategic leadership across digital, scientific, operational, infrastructure, and commercial workstreams. You will shape the roadmap, direct project managers and specialist leads, manage major dependencies and investments, and align Synnovis, NHS Trusts, the South East Genomic Medicine Service, NHS England, and delivery partners around common outcomes.

Main duties include overseeing the implementation of the enterprise Genomics LIMS (including Epic Beaker and Projodis integration), managing migration, testing, validation, cutover, and legacy system decommissioning. You will also oversee the establishment of the WGS service, including laboratory construction and fit-out, equipment procurement, operational modelling, pathway design, and validation for safe go-live.

You will lead multidisciplinary teams across clinical, scientific, digital, IT, estates, quality, training, communications, and commercial activities. You will own programme-level planning, risk and issue management, change control, assurance, executive reporting, and decision-making. Managing significant budgets, business cases, funding conditions, contracts, suppliers, and benefits realisation will be key responsibilities.

Ensuring compliance with patient safety, ISO 15189, UKAS, NHS England Genomic Medicine Service, UK GDPR, and DSPT requirements is essential. You will also lead operational readiness, adoption, and transition to embed new systems, facilities, and services into sustainable business-as-usual operations.

Experience
- Extensive experience leading complex, high-value transformation programmes in multi-site, multi-stakeholder environments.
- Proven delivery across digital, operational, technical, and infrastructure workstreams with significant interdependencies.
- Experience directing project managers and workstream leads, with responsibility for integrated planning, governance, assurance, and executive reporting.
- Strong financial management, procurement/vendor oversight, benefits realisation, and change control experience.
- Experience managing implementation, validation, migration, operational readiness, and safe go-live of regulated services or systems.

Desirable Experience
- Experience in genomics, pathology, laboratory or NHS programmes.
- Knowledge of LIMS/EPR integration, Epic Beaker, Projodis, or national genomics platforms.
- Experience establishing WGS services or laboratory facilities.
- Knowledge of UKAS and ISO 15189 standards.

Qualifications
- Essential: Degree-level qualification or equivalent senior programme delivery experience.
- Essential: MSP, APM PPQ/PMQ, PRINCE2 Practitioner, or equivalent recognised programme/project management qualification.
- Desirable: Postgraduate management or programme qualification.
- Desirable: Lean, Agile, or change management qualification.
