Property Services are now recruiting for a Gypsy Roma traveller Boater Showman Project officer. We are looking for an experienced proactive person to join and enhance our team of hardworking, passionate and friendly staff. We would also welcome applicants from GRTBS background or indeed those that work currently with communities in advocacy role or lead.
This role offers a fantastic opportunity to support how Enfield Council will be progressing new initiatives for the GRTBS communities in Enfield not withstanding site delivery for the first time in over three decades, its an exciting time to join the team as we embark on site design, developing stopping sites further and eventually delivering sites and managing them in Enfield. You will also be working on community initiatives to ensure our GRTBS communities are fully engaged and empowered.
The role
We are looking for an experienced officer who will engage with and support front line services, to understand customer needs and challenges and who will help shape and deliver our GRTBS strategy for customers. Assisting with the delivery of the vision of the GRTBS Project board.
Reporting to the GRTBS lead, you will work across council departments and collaborate with external stakeholders on projects from conception to completion.
The team
Property Services is a growing team of public sector property professionals, who are passionate about optimising Enfield Council's property assets to create community dividends. We have created an ambitious new Strategic Asset Management Plan for Enfield, which will deliver on the Council's broadest corporate objectives, including economic growth, diversity, sustainability, well-being and new homes.
We manage all 1,100 of Enfield's non-housing assets, from our own operational accommodation to industrial estates, retail assets and farms in the Green Belt, with a current income of c.£8M p/a from our investment estate. We act as the Council's Corporate Landlord, responsible for ensuring strategic property planning and compliance across the portfolio. We undertake all aspects of property asset management, from leases and licenses, to disposals, acquisitions, development deals and joint ventures.
We are the custodians of all Enfield's Property Information and operate the Council's Asset Management System. We are also growing the Council's capacity and capability in Geographical Information Systems (mapped data). Our aim is to have a comprehensive and qualified property team, to provide Enfield Council with an exemplar professional property service.
The requirements
You will be an experienced officer ideally with previous service or property experience in the public sector, working in a busy dynamic team supporting GRTBS communities.
You should demonstrate, tenacity, good negotiation, influencing and problem-solving skills and have experience of working with a variety of client groups collaboratively within local government setting and or charity sector. Working with the GRT lead, within deadlines and budget whilst responding positively to emerging polices and strategies supporting these communities.
The role plays a key part in building relationships with internal staff as well working with external providers of professional services. The office is based in Enfield Town and regular travel around the Borough will be required along with the flexibility to work from home.
