About the Role
We are recruiting for a HDRC and Public Health Data Scientist to join our Tower Hamlets Health Determinants Research Collaboration (HDRC) team. This fixed-term role until September 2027 will play a key part in advancing research and analytics that improve population health and tackle health inequalities across the borough. You will lead the cleaning, transformation and linkage of complex population, research and administrative datasets to support HDRC research priorities. You will develop and maintain scalable, reproducible data pipelines, analytical datasets and research-ready data assets. The role involves designing and delivering high-quality quantitative and mixed-methods research focused on the wider determinants of health. You will work collaboratively with academic partners, Public Health colleagues, ICT, Information Governance teams and external stakeholders to generate impactful evidence and insight. Experience
Experience in data cleaning, processing, management and linkage across complex datasets.
Strong knowledge of data management, research methods, information governance and analytical programming using Python or R.
About you
Strong communication and collaborative skills, with the ability to work effectively in a diverse community and explain complex analytical findings to both technical and non-technical audiences.
Qualifications
A degree in Data Science or a related field, or equivalent experience.
