We are seeking a dynamic and strategic Head of Exchequer Services to join our team. As a key member of the Resources Department, you will lead and support the Exchequer Teams to deliver a high performing customer focused services to the Council and external customers. Exchequer Services provides the Council with a variety of financial activities, underpinning key council services and ensuring statutory compliance whilst delivering an effective and efficient service to all its customers. Reporting to the Director of Finance - Corporate you would be a key member of the finance management team and would support the delivery of essential finance services including: - Payroll (including services to external organisations) - Accounts Payable and Receivable - Income and Bank Reconciliation The ideal candidate will have a proven track record in leading and developing high performing teams, managing complex financial processes, leading change, achieving results and meeting statutory deadlines and performance targets in a large complex organisation. Knowledge and experience of finance systems and HMRC requirements relating to the Exchequer Services above are also essential. The Council offers hybrid working arrangements which are subject to change based on service requirements.
