JOB TITLE: Head of Group Corporate Finance & International SALARY: £130,671 - £169,103 LOCATION(S): London HOURS: Full-time WORKING PATTERN: Our work style is hybrid, which involves spending at least two days per week, or 40% of our time, at one of our office sites About this opportunity An exceptional opportunity has arisen for a highly experienced and motivated individual to lead the Group's Corporate Finance & International unit. This senior role encompasses two key responsibilities: Strategic Oversight of M&A Activities: Leading all aspects of all financial matters related to M&A activities to achieve the Group's strategic objectives. Management of International Legacy Portfolio: Leading the management and resolution of the International Legacy Portfolio. As the Head of Group Corporate Finance & International, you will provide strategic advice to Group Corporate Development and Divisional Finance teams on the financial aspects of LBG's prospective M&A deals and strategic equity investments. This role offers significant exposure to high-level strategic decision-making and the opportunity to shape the future of LBG by driving the Bank's inorganic strategy. This position has 4 direct reports, all based in London. This is a unique opportunity to make a substantial impact, build strong relationships with senior stakeholders across the organization, and be at the forefront of corporate finance solutions. Responsibilities: Lead and mentor the Group Corporate Finance & International team, fostering a high-performance culture. Develop and implement strategic plans for M&A activities and legacy portfolio management. Provide strategic financial advice to senior management. Oversee the finance work stream for each transaction, ensuring rigorous financial due diligence, collaborating and challenging Group Corporate Development and business areas in implementing inorganic projects. Conduct and review quantitative and qualitative analysis of business valuations to ensure comprehensive assessment of financial risks and impacts, including tax and capital considerations. Develop and review accounting treatments for acquisitions in compliance with relevant IFRS standards. Lead the management and mitigation of tail risks from disposed international businesses, developing and driving optimal solutions for country exits and project management through to liquidation. What you'll need: Extensive experience in corporate finance, M&A, and strategic financial management. Proven leadership and team management skills. Strong analytical and strategic thinking abilities. Excellent collaborator management and interpersonal skills. Recognized financial qualification (ACA, CFA, ACCA, etc.). Experience in high-pressure environments and project management. Strong commercial awareness and ability to provide strategic insights. And any experience of these would be useful: In-depth knowledge of banking products and regulatory requirements. Visionary leader with a strategic mentality. Energetic, proactive, and able to act on own initiative. Strong attention to detail and ability to perform under pressure. Eager to learn, challenge, and drive continuous improvement.
