About the Role
We are recruiting for a Head of Private Sector Housing Enforcement within the Housing Strategy, Policy and Regulatory Assurance Division of the Housing and Regeneration Directorate. The private sector makes up 38% of all homes in Tower Hamlets. If you are passionate about driving up housing conditions for residents living in these homes and can bring experience from elsewhere of a performance-driven culture delivering positive outcomes for residents, we would love to hear from you.

In this role you will:
- Manage 4 teams delivering 3 licensing schemes as well as a reactive service.
- Deliver a dynamic and solid response to the Renters Rights Act 2025, ensuring the legislation 'lands well' in Tower Hamlets.
- Establish a data culture and a comprehensive performance framework to deliver excellent services.
- Roll out our new ICT system.
- Lead the renewal of our Selective Licensing scheme.

Requirements

Experience
- Managing multiple teams delivering housing enforcement and licensing schemes.
- Using relevant powers and duties to improve housing conditions and deliver responsive services to residents.
- Implementing new initiatives or legislation and resourcing appropriately.

About you
- Strong communication and collaborative skills.
- Ability to work effectively in a diverse community and across organisational boundaries.
- Passionate about driving up housing standards and delivering positive outcomes for residents.

Qualifications
- Degree or diploma level qualification in Environmental Health.
