About the Role
We are seeking an experienced, qualified social worker to join our enthusiastic and dedicated Kinship team on a permanent basis. The team undertakes Viability Assessments, full Special Guardianship/Kinship Assessments, and Support Plans for court. The role includes ongoing support of special guardians and kinship carers both pre and post final order, as well as presenting prospective kinship foster carers and assessments to a permanency panel. You will support children and families through transitions and provide post special guardianship order support.

This vital work enables children to remain safely within their family network, free from significant harm, sustaining family and friend links and relationships. Our service is committed to ‘child first’ principles, with collaboration with children, families, and multi-agency partners at the heart of everything we do. This is an exciting time for Kinship Care locally and nationally.

Tower Hamlets is a progressive, ambitious, and diverse place to work. We place children and families at the centre of all we do and are relentless in pursuing positive outcomes. Our Better Together Practice Framework is based on Restorative Practice and draws from strength-based approaches such as Systemic and Trauma Informed Practice. Our C-Change approach (Connect, Curious, Community, Co-Produce, Collaborate, Check) sets out the “6 Cs” for our work with children, young people, parents, carers, and colleagues.
