About the Role
As a Health Improvement Officer - Partnerships and Inequalities at the London Borough of Harrow, you will play a vital role in improving the health and wellbeing of residents across the borough. Working within the Public Health team, you will support the delivery of key public health priorities aimed at reducing health inequalities and improving outcomes in areas such as substance misuse, tobacco control, and wider health improvement initiatives. You will contribute to evidence-based programmes through the development of strategies, needs assessments, action plans, and evaluations that make a real difference to local communities.
This highly collaborative role involves building and maintaining strong relationships with a wide range of partners, including NHS organisations, voluntary and community sector groups, local authority services, and regional stakeholders. Experience
- Demonstrable experience of leading complex projects or workstreams involving multiple stakeholders, working independently with minimal supervision.
- Experience of analysing and interpreting complex information to support recommendations, service improvements, and decision-making.
- Experience of working in a customer-focused environment, committed to delivering high-quality services and excellent customer care.
- Strong research skills, including desktop and face-to-face research to inform projects, strategies, and service development.

- Ability to apply public health principles, evidence, and data to develop effective solutions within statutory, governance, and policy frameworks.
- Knowledge and understanding of public health, particularly in relation to tackling health inequalities, substance misuse, tobacco control, and wider health improvement priorities.

- Excellent communication skills, with the ability to present information and data clearly and effectively in both written and verbal formats.
