About the Role
The London Borough of Harrow is seeking a Senior Practitioner to join the Transition / Young Adulthood team. In this role, you will provide advice and support to social workers and care managers on casework, ensuring that incoming concerns are addressed promptly and appropriately. You will support the Team Manager by acting as the Safeguarding Adults Manager (SAM) under the multi-agency London procedures and act as Duty Manager when required. The role involves undertaking complex enquiries, liaising with internal and external colleagues, and accurately recording actions and decisions on the Mosaic database. This position requires a commitment to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of vulnerable adults, young people, and children, and adherence to stringent safer recruitment procedures.

Requirements

Experience
- Extensive knowledge of legislation and policies related to the Adults agenda
- Detailed working knowledge of London multi-agency safeguarding adults guidance and "Making Safeguarding Personal"
- Significant experience conducting safeguarding adults’ enquiries
- Experience providing professional supervision to social workers, care managers, and/or students
- Experience presenting cases at Strategy Meetings and Case Conferences
- Ability to present safeguarding adults’ case information clearly and professionally

About You
- Qualified Social Worker with DipSW, CQSW or equivalent
- Registered with Social Work England
- Commitment to working occasional unsocial hours
- Ability to travel for business purposes
- Strong commitment to safeguarding and promoting welfare of vulnerable adults, young people, and children
