About the Role
Are you passionate about supporting young minds and making a real difference in the classroom? We’re looking for a dedicated, energetic HLTA (Level 4) Flexible Learning Programme Transition Worker to join our fantastic team. This is an exciting opportunity to support learners through key transition stages and make a meaningful impact on their educational journey.
You will support pupils individually or in small groups to engage in learning, reintegrate into full-time education, and achieve positive outcomes. You will deliver and plan structured academic and social learning sessions in a range of settings, including off-site and at pupils’ homes. You will coordinate and monitor learning activities with teaching staff and subject leaders, including assessing progress and maintaining accurate records of attendance, engagement, and achievement.
Additionally, you will organise and support transition programmes into school, KS5 providers, and where appropriate, vocational placements, including transport and supervision. Promoting and supporting pupils’ mental health, wellbeing, behaviour, and personal development through targeted activities and mentoring will be key aspects of your role.
Safeguarding and promoting pupil welfare by adhering to school policies, contributing to risk assessments, and working closely with the Designated Safeguarding Lead (DSL) and wider safeguarding team is essential. You will build positive relationships with pupils, families, and external agencies, including regular and effective communication with parents/carers and supporting attendance at key appointments.

Experience
Experience working in an educational setting, ideally specialist provision. Understanding of supporting pupils with learning needs, behaviour, or child development. Awareness of neurodiversity, trauma, and the impact of Adverse Childhood Experiences (ACEs).
About you
Strong communication and interpersonal skills. Excellent organisation skills with strong written, verbal, and ICT skills. Commitment to continuing professional development. Full driving licence and willingness to complete school driver training.
Qualifications
GCSE (or equivalent) in English and Maths (Grade C/4 or above). Relevant Level 3 qualification (or above) and/or relevant further study.
