About the Role
As a Home Delivery Driver for Sainsbury's, you will be responsible for driving a 3.5 tonne van to deliver groceries directly to customers' doorsteps, ensuring deliveries are on time and in excellent condition. You will complete checks to ensure the van is organised, clean, roadworthy, and that delivery cases are secure before setting off. You will drive safely across a variety of locations and conditions, from busy residential streets to narrow country lanes. Providing excellent customer service is key, supporting customers with any questions or substitutions and keeping them informed of any delays. When not making deliveries, you will assist across the store as needed, gaining experience in a fast-paced, physical, and high-energy environment. You will also build strong knowledge of Sainsbury's products, services, and promotions to offer helpful recommendations. Sainsbury's has enhanced driver safety by installing in-cab AI cameras to monitor driving behaviour and promote compliance with road laws and defensive driving standards.

Experience
You must be proficient in driving a large vehicle in various locations and conditions, including busy residential areas and narrow country lanes. Experience in customer service and working in a fast-paced environment is beneficial.

About You
Friendly and welcoming with genuine enthusiasm for helping customers and providing an excellent doorstep experience. Able to work flexibly and productively across the store when needed, using initiative to solve problems independently while also thriving as part of a team. Comfortable learning to use new digital tools and technology. Physically able to move shopping containers weighing up to 15kg.

Qualifications
You must be over 18 and have held a full UK/EU driving licence for at least 12 months with no more than 6 points. You will complete an online driving risk assessment as part of the interview process and a driving assessment upon joining. Right to Work eligibility in the UK is required.
