About the Role
As a Home Delivery Driver at Sainsbury's, you will be responsible for driving a 3.5 tonne van to deliver groceries to customers' doorsteps on time and in excellent condition. You will complete checks to ensure the van is organised, clean, roadworthy, and that delivery cases are secure before setting off. You will drive safely across a variety of locations and conditions, serving customers brilliantly by supporting with any questions, substitutions, and keeping them informed of any delays. You will build great knowledge about our products, services, and promotions to provide helpful recommendations. When not making deliveries, you will assist across the store as needed, working flexibly and productively to a high standard. Sainsbury's has installed in-cab AI cameras to monitor driver behaviour, ensuring compliance with road laws and defensive driving standards to protect drivers and other road users.

Experience
You must be proficient in driving a large vehicle in different locations, from busy residential streets to narrow country lanes, delivering to a variety of residential properties. Experience working in a fast-paced, physical environment is beneficial.

Able to work independently using initiative to solve problems, while also thriving as part of a team. Ready to work flexibly across the store when needed and comfortable learning to use new digital tools and technology. Physically able to move shopping containers up to 15KG.
Qualifications
You must be over 18 and have held a full UK/EU driving licence for at least 12 months with no more than 6 points. You will complete an online driving risk assessment as part of the interview process and a driving assessment upon joining. Right to Work eligibility in the UK is required.
