About the Role
As a Home Delivery Driver for Sainsbury's, you will be responsible for driving a 3.5 tonne van to deliver groceries directly to customers' doorsteps, ensuring deliveries are made on time and in excellent condition. You will complete checks to ensure the van is organised, clean, and roadworthy, and that delivery cases are secure before setting off. You will drive safely across a variety of locations and conditions, from busy residential streets to narrow country lanes, delivering to a range of residential properties.
You will serve customers brilliantly by supporting with any questions and substitutions, keeping them informed of any delays, and building great knowledge about our products, services, and promotions to provide helpful recommendations. When not out making deliveries, you will assist across the store as needed, working flexibly and productively to a high standard.
Sainsbury's has introduced in-cab AI cameras to monitor driver behaviour, ensuring compliance with road laws and promoting defensive driving standards to protect drivers and other road users.

Experience
You must be proficient in driving large vehicles in various locations and conditions, including busy residential streets and narrow country lanes. Experience delivering to a variety of residential properties is essential. You will complete an online driving risk assessment as part of your interview and a driving assessment upon joining.

Qualifications
You must be over 18 and have held a full UK/EU driving licence for at least 12 months with no more than 6 points. You must have the right to work in the UK.
