About the Role
Are you passionate about making a difference in the community? Join our dynamic Housing Advisory Service team as a Housing Caseworker. You will play a crucial role in providing support, guidance, and advice to households seeking assistance. This role involves working across different locations to meet the needs of the service.

Key responsibilities include delivering high-quality housing options, advice, and homeless prevention casework in line with the Housing Act 1996 (as amended). You will support households through applications under Part VII of the Housing Act 1996, including attending court to assist with possession proceedings. Making informed decisions in line with statutory duties and providing support under Section 17 of the Children Act 1989 when necessary will be essential.

Additional duties involve conducting home visits to confirm homelessness, inspecting housing conditions, and verifying household circumstances. You will liaise with Property and Procurement teams to secure accommodation and recommend access to other accommodation schemes. The role requires interpreting and explaining complex legal matters to tenants, landlords, and other interested parties, as well as providing advocacy for applicants in court and support around claiming benefits.

Be part of a team dedicated to preventing homelessness and improving housing conditions. Work collaboratively with various departments and external agencies, making a real impact in the community within a supportive environment that offers opportunities for professional development.
