Housing is seeking a Health and Safety Manager to lead on the management and oversight of occupational health and safety within the Division, to help achieve Enfield's ambition to become the safest Borough in London. The role has responsibility for line management of a Health and Safety Adviser and Health and Safety Co-ordinator. There will also be significant involvement in the management of fire safety and building safety arrangements relating to the management and occupation of our housing stock, effective under our duties arising from Section 3 of the Health and Safety at Work Act, as well as the newer Fire Safety Act and Building Safety Act, in conjunction with the Fire Safety Team. The Health and Safety Manager has responsibility for the full range of health and safety techniques and tools for ensuring compliance with the Health and Safety Management System that has been approved by the Executive Team. This includes audits, site inspections, investigations as well as supporting all Housing's services such as risk assessment and provision of training (both mandatory and ad-hoc). The successful applicant will have experience of working within social housing, leading investigations, developing and drafting policies and procedures, and achieving and reporting against targets and achievements. A high standard of written work is essential as communication is a key aspect of this role. To support this, experience of using Neptune, Apex and Pentana would be an advantage alongside a high standard of proficiency in Microsoft packages; excel and powerpoint in particular.
