About the Role
Join Peabody as a Housing Support Worker and make a real difference in the lives of young people aged 16–25, including care leavers, supporting them on their journey to independence. This role is focused on providing practical and emotional support rather than care. You will help young people develop essential life skills such as navigating housing options, managing benefits, and budgeting. Creating a safe, non-judgmental environment where young people feel empowered and respected is key. You will also bring your own passions—whether in music, art, sports, or other interests—to enrich the community and build meaningful connections. Collaboration with colleagues and external partners ensures each young person receives the right support at the right time. Multiple vacancies are available across Lambeth and Lewisham, offering opportunities to find the right fit within the team.

Experience
- Experience working with young people, especially those who have faced trauma, mental health challenges, or substance misuse is desirable.
- Transferable experience from youth work, education, housing, or similar sectors is valued.

About you
- Able to connect easily with young people and engage them creatively through music, sports, art, or other interests.
- Confident working independently and as part of a team, managing a caseload and supporting residents with budgeting, benefits, and housing options.
- Strong communication and IT skills.
- Flexible and adaptable to varied shift patterns including weekends and bank holidays.

Qualifications
- No specific qualifications are required, but knowledge of safeguarding, support plans, or key working is ideal.
- A positive, proactive attitude and a commitment to Peabody’s values are essential.
