Job Description Overview London Borough of Harrow is seeking a dynamic and experienced individual to lead our drive to achieve exceptional educational outcomes for all children and young people. As Interim Head of School Effectiveness and Early Years, you will play a pivotal role in shaping the future of education in Harrow. The successful candidate will ensure effective management, development and coordination of Council strategies and related activities to improve school performance and achieve the best possible educational outcomes for all children and young people in early years (including Private, Voluntary and Independent settings and childminders), primary, secondary and post-16 education. This will initially be a part time fixed term contract as the department is going through a period of Leadership change. About You As part of the role, you will: Manage the strategic direction, development, and coordination of Harrow Council’s education initiatives to enhance school performance and elevate the learning experiences of children and young people across early years, primary, secondary, and post-16 education. Oversee robust monitoring, support, and challenge mechanisms to ensure all early years settings and schools achieve and sustain outstanding outcomes. Foster strong partnerships with the early years sector, schools, colleges, and relevant stakeholders to drive continuous improvement. Represent Harrow Council at local and regional levels, building relationships with key education agencies such as Ofsted and the Regional Schools Commissioner. Provide strategic leadership and management to a high-performing team responsible for early years, school improvement, and related services. Drive innovation and best practices across the education sector, contributing to Harrow’s reputation as a leading authority in child development and educational attainment.
