About the Role
The post holder will work alongside consultant colleagues to provide comprehensive Breast services at Guys & St Thomas NHS Foundation Trust. Responsibilities include diagnosis and treatment of patients across hospitals, health centers, clinics, or other premises as required. The role involves continuing clinical responsibility for patients under your care, with appropriate delegation and training of staff. All consultants are expected to participate in undergraduate teaching during normal clinical work, with additional teaching responsibilities allocated time within the job plan. The post holder will contribute to the training and support of doctors in training, including acting as Educational Supervisor for junior staff and managing FY2 doctors within the service. Engagement in clinical research is encouraged, with specific time allocated within the job plan for research activities as part of the trust’s research and development program. The role demands delivery of high-quality patient care, ensuring patients are involved in decisions about their care and their views are respected.

Experience
Proven experience in breast oncoplastic surgery and clinical management within a relevant NHS setting. Demonstrated ability to provide high-quality patient care and clinical leadership.

Medically/dentally qualified with a commitment to maintaining high standards of clinical practice. Enthusiastic about teaching and training junior doctors and medical students. Motivated to engage in clinical research and contribute to service development. Strong communication skills with a patient-centered approach.

Qualifications
Must hold GMC specialist registration with a license to practice. Relevant postgraduate qualifications and competencies in breast oncoplastic surgery are essential. Commitment to ongoing professional development and maintaining competencies required for the post.
