About the Role
The London Care Record Support Analyst will provide in-depth specialist knowledge of key Lewisham and Greenwich NHS Trust (LGT) managed IT systems, ensuring they are maintained to a very high standard. You will develop your understanding of system functionality and their potential benefits to the Trust. Your responsibilities include prioritising and resolving Health Information Exchange (HIE) service issues via the IT Service Desk, ensuring timely closure or escalation as appropriate. You will apply high-level specialist knowledge and logical troubleshooting to resolve problems efficiently, taking ownership of issues impacting HIE operational workflow and patient pathways.

You will undertake root cause analysis of complex issues and propose system configuration, workflow, or process improvements. Regular liaison with line managers and HIE system suppliers will be essential to identify and address software problems and to contribute to system design and change activities. You will coordinate and participate in testing new software releases and updates, maintaining key master files and tables related to HIE operations.

The role requires working independently, managing multiple priorities under pressure, and maintaining effective communication with relevant personnel. You will act as a liaison between local health communities and the IT team, promoting HIE usage to support the Trust’s patient care and choice objectives. Additionally, you will support HIE users, manage fault resolution within SLA timescales, monitor suppliers, and contribute to business continuity planning and policy development.

Supervisory duties for HIE team staff may be required, alongside ensuring compliance with Trust policies on Data Protection, Confidentiality, Health and Safety, Equality and Diversity, and Dignity at Work. You will also be responsible for promoting the economical and appropriate use of NHS resources to maximise patient benefits.
