Description
An exciting opportunity has arisen for a position as the Team Leader for Enfield’s Special Education Needs team, specifically as the Team Leader for the LAC (Looked After Children) and Vulnerable Group. The vacancy is a maternity cover. Enfield’s SEN Team is a statutory service providing support to children and young people with SEN (Special Educational Needs) who have an Education, Health, and Care (EHC) Plan. The LAC & Vulnerable Groups Team Leader will lead a well-established team consisting of a Senior SEN Officer, SEN Officer, and a Case Officer. As Team Leader, you will be responsible for overseeing a specific caseload that includes the most vulnerable or harder-to-reach children and young people. This includes those who are Looked After by Enfield, those open to Youth Offending, those who are Electively Home Educated, residing outside the borough for school, or those who are Educated other than at school within the wider SEND (Special Educational Needs and Disabilities) Service. An essential aspect of this role includes direct work to achieve national and local performance targets by leading the team in managing EHC Plans for our most complex cases. A solid knowledge and understanding of the key legislative frameworks relating to the provision of SEND services to children and young people, and their application to effective casework, is essential for this role. This should be accompanied by evidence of working cooperatively with key stakeholders to meet the SEND needs of children and young people. Successful experience in staff and casework management within a SEND, education, or related Local Authority service is essential, with experience within a statutory framework or service being highly desirable. You will be required to work 36 hours a week with the flexibility to accommodate the service’s needs at times. The ability to learn and work remotely and independently is vital, although some work will require you to be in the office. We anticipate that you will primarily work remotely. Contact Details - If you would like to know more about this role, please contact Zulkifl Ahmed for an informal discussion at [email protected]. “This authority is committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children and young people and expects all staff and volunteers to share in this commitment”. We reserve the right to close this vacancy once a sufficient number of applications have been received. Therefore, we advise that you complete fully and submit your application as soon as possible to avoid disappointment. We do not see your name or title when shortlisting your application. This is one of many initiatives to build a more talented and diverse workforce. However, if you put your name on your CV or Statement it will be visible to us. For this reason, we ask that you do not include your name on these documents. Please note it is your responses to the Essential/Desirable criteria, as detailed in the Job Description and Person Specification which is available on the job advert, that will determine if you are shortlisted for an interview, therefore we encourage you to always address the essential and desirable criteria in your application/CV.
