About the Role
Procter & Gamble (P&G) is a global leader in Fast-Moving Consumer Goods, producing well-known brands such as Fairy, Ariel, Lenor, Oral-B, and Pampers. We are seeking a skilled and dedicated Mechanical Maintenance Technician to join our London Plant Distribution Centre Systems Team. In this role, you will maintain and optimize a wide range of industrial machinery and equipment to ensure efficient and continuous operations, directly supporting production and distribution goals.
Your responsibilities will include performing preventative and reactive maintenance on automated pallet storage systems, conveyor equipment, layer pickers, and more. You will diagnose mechanical, minor electrical, pneumatic, and hydraulic faults and implement effective repairs to minimize downtime. The role also involves installing, commissioning, and decommissioning machinery while adhering to safety standards and operational procedures.
You will execute precision fitting tasks such as fabricating, assembling, and repairing mechanical components, conduct routine inspections and testing of utility systems including HVAC, water, compressed air, and steam, and maintain Automatic Storage & Retrieval Systems including automated pallet depositing vehicles, lifts, conveyors, and elevators. Operating and maintaining shop equipment like lathes, milling machines, and grinders will also be part of your duties.
Adherence to company safety policies, accurate documentation of maintenance activities, collaboration with production teams and engineers, participation in continuous improvement initiatives, and providing technical support to less experienced team members are key aspects of this role.
At P&G London Site, you will benefit from a dynamic and respectful work environment that values every individual and promotes work-life balance. Additional perks include an on-site gym, discounted canteen, free parking, and career development opportunities within a top employer organization. Continuous coaching and mentoring will support your professional growth.
