About the Role
The successful post holder will join a team of Medical Education Fellows (MEFs) contributing to the teaching of Phase 1 Year 1 and 2 student cohorts and supporting the ongoing development of the 5-year MBBS programme. Key responsibilities include teaching clinical and communication skills to first- and second-year medical students, as well as Physician Associate (PA) students. You may also be involved in delivering anatomy teaching. The role involves contributing to curriculum planning, development, and review, student selection processes including multiple mini-interviews, and assessment activities such as OSCEs. Administrative duties include participation in Departmental, College, and University committees. Effective communication and liaison with internal and external stakeholders is required. The post supports an academically rigorous and evidence-based approach to curriculum design, informed by educational theory and practice. External engagement through networking and presenting educational initiatives at internal and external meetings is encouraged. Continuous professional development (CPD) in medical education is expected according to prior experience and performance. This role requires flexibility to adapt to changing priorities within a busy academic environment.

Requirements

Experience
- Experience in teaching clinical and communication skills to medical or PA students is desirable.
- Involvement in curriculum development, student selection, and assessment processes is advantageous.
- Ability to engage with academic committees and external stakeholders.
