About the Role
The London Borough of Enfield Integrated Mental Health Service is seeking experienced Mental Health Social Workers and Approved Mental Health Practitioners (AMHPs) to join our fully integrated multidisciplinary Community Mental Health Teams and centralised AMHP Service. This role offers an exciting opportunity to make a real difference in the lives of vulnerable people, contribute to mental health service development and transformation, and influence the practice of aspiring social workers and AMHPs through Practice Education and ASYE programs.
The AMHP role is unique, encompassing practice with both children and adults, providing varied and wide-ranging work that is vital in safeguarding and supporting our most vulnerable residents.
We are looking for imaginative and dynamic practitioners motivated to contribute positively to the transformation of mental health social care, applying social recovery and empowerment models, and working in meaningful partnerships with service users, carers, and families. You will use person-centred assessment skills, strengths-based and enabling principles, and demonstrate coordination and planning skills focused on prevention, recovery, wellbeing, and dignity outcomes.
Enfield prides itself on a supportive work culture with strong partnerships with the North London Partnership Mental Health Trust and a stable management team that empowers social workers to deliver first-class services. This role offers professional peer support, clinical supervision, and opportunities to influence social work and AMHP practice.
Enfield is a culturally diverse borough with a mix of affluent and deprived areas, excellent transport links to Central London and beyond, and a commitment to personalisation in mental health. Employed by Enfield Local Authority and seconded to Barnet, Enfield & Haringey NHS Mental Health Trust, you will benefit from positive practical working partnerships between the two organisations.
If you are motivated by personalised services and want to work with professional autonomy in an integrated multidisciplinary setting, this could be the ideal next step in your career.
