About the Role
As an Occupational Therapist with Oxleas NHS Foundation Trust, you will manage a caseload of service users with mental health needs. You will work collaboratively with service users to identify occupational therapy goals as part of a multi-disciplinary care plan, using OT assessment tools and treatment techniques. Your role will involve working in a variety of settings to provide effective assessments and interventions tailored to individual needs. You will plan and implement service user-led individual and group interventions using graded activities to achieve therapeutic goals while ensuring that health, social, cultural, and spiritual needs are always considered.

You will assess and provide equipment to enhance independence in daily living skills for service users with physical disabilities alongside their mental health needs. Monitoring, evaluating, and modifying treatments to measure progress and identify outcomes will be key responsibilities. You will plan and deliver services within the Care Programme Approach framework and apply a high level of understanding of the effects of disability, providing training and advice on life skills to maximize functional ability.

Additional duties include assessing occupational needs, establishing and evaluating appropriate treatment interventions, prioritizing referrals, managing effective discharge processes, contributing to risk assessments and risk management plans, and actively participating as part of the multi-disciplinary team by attending relevant clinical meetings.

Requirements

Experience
Experience working with service users with mental health needs and physical disabilities is desirable. Ability to manage a caseload and deliver individual and group interventions effectively.

You have a high level of understanding of disability effects and are skilled in risk assessment and management.

Qualifications
Registered Occupational Therapist with relevant professional qualifications and registration with the Health and Care Professions Council (HCPC) or equivalent.
