About the Role
This role involves managing a designated caseload of patients with complex needs across a rotational scheme including Elderly, General Medicine, Stroke Unit, Surgery, Orthopaedics, Complex Neurological conditions (including major trauma), and Community Rehabilitation. You will assess, plan, implement, and evaluate client-centred, evidence-based occupational therapy interventions to maximise patient independence and wellbeing. The role includes supervising O.T. students on practice placements, providing leadership and support to junior and support staff, and participating in multidisciplinary team meetings and case conferences. You will undertake home and community visits, discharge planning, and coordinate care with other agencies. Additionally, you will contribute to service development, training, and departmental duties, deputise for senior staff when required, and maintain professional standards and ethics in line with the COT Code of Ethics and Trust policies. Ongoing professional development and participation in mandatory training are expected to ensure competence and fitness to practise as a senior Occupational Therapist.

Experience
- Experience managing a complex caseload in acute and community settings
- Ability to assess, plan, implement, and evaluate occupational therapy interventions
- Experience supervising and appraising junior/support staff and students
- Competence in multidisciplinary team working and communication
- Experience in service development and training delivery is desirable

Qualifications
- Registered Occupational Therapist with relevant professional body
- Evidence of ongoing professional development and competence to practise as a senior O.T.
- Willingness to participate in mandatory and statutory training as required
