About the Role
An exciting opportunity has arisen within the Gynae Oncology department at Guy's and St Thomas' NHS Foundation Trust for a maternity leave cover for a Patient Pathway Coordinator role. The Patient Pathway Coordinator will be the first point of contact for patients and service users, providing in-depth knowledge of outpatient and inpatient scheduling procedures for their specialty and playing a key role in the efficient day-to-day activities of the unit. The Coordinator will liaise closely with the clinical team and specialty management teams to ensure patients receive timely and appropriate appointments and/or surgical procedures in accordance with their care pathway. While predominantly supporting the Gynae-Oncology area, the post holder will also support cross-covering for the Colposcopy service as required. We are looking for someone with a proven track record of working in a busy, fast-paced operational service and demanding environment. Experience
Significant proven experience of delivering to high standards in a fast-paced, high-volume customer care environment. Ability to deal with a range of issues independently and efficiently. Proven administrative experience.
About you
Excellent interpersonal skills with the ability to liaise effectively with a wide range of multidisciplinary staff. Ability to work both autonomously and in a team. Ability to deal with difficult service users and challenging situations. Demonstrable experience of data collection, presentation, report writing, and handling of data quality issues. Strong IT skills, particularly with Microsoft Office packages, e.g., Word, Outlook, and Excel.
Qualifications
Essential criteria
Good general education with English and Maths to GCSE standard or equivalent. Educated to diploma level or NVQ 3, City and Guilds certificate level in business administration or equivalent. Evidence of some formal further training in short courses, experience of a range of admin practices, and significant experience of hospital administration.
Desirable criteria
IT package qualification/training, e.g., Epic, Microsoft. Customer services qualification/training.
