As a Performing Arts Teacher at High Peak School, part of the Kedleston Group, you will play a key role in a team that places children and young people at the heart of everything we do.
You will plan, deliver and assess high-quality teaching and learning in Music and Performing Arts that engage and challenge our pupils. Using proven approaches, you will ensure all pupils can access learning and make strong progress.
You will foster a positive, structured, and inclusive learning environment that supports pupils’ educational and personal growth, including those with ASC, ADHD, and a range of additional learning needs.
Your role will include supporting pupils’ pastoral as well as academic needs, inspiring trust and confidence across the school community, and building positive relationships with pupils, colleagues, families, external professionals, and the wider school community.
You will contribute to curriculum development and the wider life of the school, participate in extracurricular programs and professional development opportunities, and lead school shows and performances.
Set over 20 acres of beautiful countryside in Derbyshire, High Peak School is a specialist independent primary and secondary setting supporting pupils aged 7–16 with autism, speech, language and communication needs, and SEMH including anxiety and emotional school-based non-attendance.
Our small class sizes, specialist approach, and nurturing ethos enable pupils to thrive academically and personally. We are expanding to accommodate up to 110 pupils, reflecting our continued growth and success.

Experience
- Experience teaching Music and Performing Arts up to Key Stage 4
- Experience working with children with autism and associated needs
- Experience teaching pupils with special educational needs (SEN) in mainstream or specialist settings

Qualifications
- Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or equivalent
