About the Role
We are seeking kind, caring, and fun-loving individuals to join a small team of Personal Assistants supporting a young disabled man who lives independently with his mother and dogs. A love of animals is essential. The young man is a blind wheelchair user who enjoys an active and fulfilling lifestyle including holidays in the UK and abroad, days out by train, concerts, and music events. The role involves assisting with personal care, administration of medication via PEG (full training provided), meal preparation, domestic chores, and driving his mobility vehicle to access community facilities and activities. A full UK driving licence is required. This is a unique opportunity to make a positive difference while supporting independence and enjoying new experiences together.
Experience
No previous experience is necessary. Full training will be provided including medication administration, moving & handling, and other essential skills.
About you
You must be fit, outgoing, fun, and caring with a willingness to learn. Enjoying new places and experiences while respecting and promoting the young man’s independence is vital. A love of animals is important as the young man shares his home with dogs.
Qualifications
Full UK driving licence is essential as the role involves driving a motability equipped vehicle.
