About the Role
Are you committed, determined, pragmatic, and solution-focused? Do you have a passion for design? At Elmbridge Borough Council, our planning services stand out because of our talented and passionate team, dedicated to shaping and influencing the future of Elmbridge.

Due to an increase in planning application fees, we are expanding our Development Management, Planning and Environmental Health team. You will join a growing team and have the opportunity to undertake professional qualifications, supported by day release courses at university.

Whether you are a planning manager, officer, or trainee, you will play an important role in helping us shape Elmbridge by supporting our customers and demonstrating the value of good planning.

Elmbridge is one of the busiest local planning authorities in the country, setting high standards for delivering planning decisions within Government targets. With land values comparable to London and a population of 135,000, this role offers an interesting and challenging step in your career.

From April 2027, Elmbridge will become part of the new East Surrey Council. During this transition, we remain focused on delivering high-quality services and supporting our employees with wellbeing, continuous learning, and professional development.

Your time at Elmbridge Borough Council will be rewarding and enriching, offering valuable experience, extensive training opportunities, and involvement in one of the most significant local government transformations in the past 50 years.
