Starting salary: £33,609, rising to £52,014 after five years
London allowances: £9,044.75 (£5,783.75 London Allowance plus £3,261 London Weighting) from day one of training

Experience
No previous policing experience is required. We welcome applicants from all backgrounds, including those changing careers, leaving education, returning to work or seeking a fresh challenge. Relevant experience in healthcare, customer service, retail, hospitality, transportation, military or emergency services is valued but not essential.

Qualifications
To be eligible for the Police Constable Entry Programme (PCEP), you must have:
- Level 2 qualifications in English Language and Maths (GCSE Grade C/4 or equivalent), or be willing to undertake BTP's Level 2 assessment if you do not currently hold these qualifications;
- Either hold a Level 3 qualification or have relevant work experience demonstrating an equivalent level of knowledge, responsibility and professional capability.

Examples of Level 3 qualifications include two A-levels at grade E or above (or equivalent such as BTEC Level 3, T Levels, International Baccalaureate), BTEC National Diploma, NVQ Level 3, Access to Higher Education Diploma or other recognised Level 3 qualifications.

Relevant work experience (minimum 24 months) may include Armed Forces/military service, emergency services (ambulance, fire), Revenue Protection Officer/Inspector, Railway Enforcement Officer, Rail Incident Response or Service Delivery Management roles.

You will be required to provide evidence of qualifications and/or experience during recruitment.

You will not be eligible to apply if you:
- Do not hold Level 2 English and Maths qualifications;
- Cannot demonstrate Level 3 qualification or equivalent experience;
- Have been unsuccessful in previous police applications and are within the reapplication period;
- Have been declined vetting by BTP or other police agencies in the last two years;
- Have received a custodial sentence;
- Have been dismissed from another police force or are under live misconduct investigation;
- Are bankrupt or have unresolved County Court Judgments or Individual Voluntary Arrangements;
- Have offensive tattoos (face and neck tattoos considered case-by-case);
- Do not have permanent right to live and work in the UK;
- Have not resided continuously in the UK for the past three years.
