About the Role
As a Porter within the NHS, you will play a vital role in supporting the smooth running of the site by assisting the Line Manager in maintaining security and safety procedures. Your duties will include organising and maintaining the cleanliness and tidiness of linen utility areas, performing grounds cleaning and litter picking in internal and external gardens including car parks, and supervising contractors to ensure safe working practices. You will also support Covid-19 response activities as required, manage confidential waste collection in line with organisational policy, and oversee the distribution and ordering of PPE and uniforms. Flexibility is essential as you will be expected to cover other Support Services posts and undertake additional duties as directed by the Line Manager.
Experience
Previous experience in a similar role is desirable but not essential. A willingness to learn and adapt to a variety of duties is important.
About you
You should be flexible, reliable, and able to work effectively as part of a team. Good communication skills and the ability to follow safety procedures are essential. A proactive attitude towards supporting site security, cleanliness, and operational needs is required.
Qualifications
No formal qualifications are required for this role, although a background in security, facilities management, or healthcare support would be advantageous.
