About the Role
The Prevention in Communities Coordinator will play a vital role in coordinating preventative services and community hubs to deliver the best outcomes for Kingston’s residents. You will be the key contact for driving the Council's prevention agenda from planning through to on-the-ground success. Your day-to-day responsibilities include supporting the Community Hub model through scheduling, administration, and ensuring the hubs effectively meet the needs of residents and partners. You will collect, monitor, and report data on all preventative initiatives to provide essential evidence of the team’s impact. Building and maintaining strong relationships with voluntary, community, and statutory organisations will be central to strengthening resource sharing and partnership working. Additionally, you will provide key administrative, logistical, and organisational support to the Neighbourhood Manager.

- Neighbourhoods and Community Empowerment: empowering residents to shape their communities and enhance local resilience.
- VCSE Sector Development: supporting the Voluntary, Community, and Social Enterprise sector with infrastructure, funding, and partnerships.
- Partnerships and Collaboration: facilitating joined-up working across sectors including councillors and external partners.
- Grants and Commissioning: managing funding and commissioning to invest in prevention, innovation, and community wellbeing.
- Prevention and Early Intervention: designing and commissioning approaches to reduce inequalities and build long-term community resilience.
Experience
Proven ability to coordinate initiatives and work effectively with a range of stakeholders including residents, businesses, community groups, and public services is desirable. Experience championing digital or innovative ways of working and promoting service improvement is highly beneficial.
