About the Role
The Project Controls Engineer will support project control activities by developing and producing reports on progress, outputs achieved, critical paths, resource tracking, and earned value. You will assist the Project Control Manager and Planning Manager to ensure effective execution of project controls, comply with company procedures for close project control and accurate forecasting, and liaise with internal and external stakeholders. Key responsibilities include capturing and monitoring project risks, issues, mitigations, and resolutions, as well as collating actual hours expended by site staff and labor.

Responsibilities vary by project but may include schedule development and management, resource planning, cost management, change management, earned value management, risk and opportunity management, and project reporting to clients and the company.

Main Responsibilities
Use the document control system to optimise information distribution. Work with the supply chain to establish effective relationships and drive continuous improvement in programme delivery and productivity. Support the planning team to establish Earned Value Analysis (EVA) and ensure monthly reporting accuracy, including contract-specific measures. Ensure client reporting requirements are consistently met. Collaborate with the commercial team to align EVA and cost systems and produce accurate combined monthly reports. Generate and monitor cash flow profiles alongside the commercial team. Maintain a client-focused approach, understanding client priorities and cascading these through the team. Promote robust, open, and honest reporting to ensure project targets are met. Possess knowledge of contract conditions and ensure project timescales are achieved. Participate in managing the project risk register by assigning owners and actively managing risks and opportunities. Understand and implement the Client and Joint Venture Partners' Environment and Sustainability Policies, Processes, and statutory requirements relevant to the discipline and project operations.

Experience
- Thorough understanding of Earned Value Management (EVM) terminology and practice
- High proficiency in P6 Planning and Control Software, including budget and resource management
- Knowledge of the Engineering and Construction Industry
- Competent IT skills, especially MS Excel for data manipulation and template creation
- Good knowledge of Microsoft SharePoint, including SharePoint Lists
- Experience using Microsoft Power BI for data visualisation, creating meaningful graphs and dashboards

Qualifications
Relevant qualifications or experience in project controls, planning, or a related discipline are desirable. A commitment to continuous professional development and learning within the role is expected.
