About the Role
Supporting the Group Tax Manager, you will be responsible for delivering the Corporate Tax year-end and half-year accounting and compliance obligations, as well as providing advisory support for the Costain Group. This role covers all aspects of Corporate Taxes within the UK-based Costain Group and plays a pivotal role in embedding tax compliance across systems and processes. Key responsibilities include prioritising Corporate Tax actions and delivery to realistic but challenging timeframes, supporting transformation activities and the executive board agenda, preparing all Corporate Tax returns, managing corporate tax cash flow including Group relief and RDEC relief, and accounting for corporate tax in Group and subsidiary accounts for both half and full year. You will also manage the RDEC process, produce accurate quarterly forecasts of tax rates and tax payments on account, handle adhoc queries, map Corporate Tax returns in support of SAO, respond to HMRC queries and attend HMRC meetings, identify opportunities to enhance processes and compliance through intelligent data capture and reporting, and contribute to finance and tax transformation initiatives including digitalisation and entity rationalisation.

Experience
- Accounting qualification
- Corporation tax trained
- Practical experience of completing and filing corporate tax returns
- Experience of RDEC claims
- Experience in the construction sector is preferable
