
Location
Hampton, London with travel required across the Thames Valley/Home Counties and London regions. Example locations include Swindon, Newbury, Oxford, Reading, Guildford, North (Coppermills), East (Crossness), and West (Ashford Common).
Hours
36 hours per week, Monday to Friday.
Salary
£42,000 per annum, depending on experience and skills, plus £4,500 car allowance.
About the Role
As a Regional Security Advisor within Thames Water's Protective Security team, you will work closely with site teams and stakeholders to support and enhance the physical security of critical assets across a designated area of the estate. You will act as the key link between regulatory guidance and the business, providing expert security advice and promoting adherence to security policies and procedures. Your role will be pivotal in maintaining the security of Thames Water’s people, processes, premises, and assets.
Key responsibilities include conducting security risk assessments and investigations to a consistent standard, reviewing compliance forms and escalating issues as necessary, and providing practical security advice as a subject matter expert. You will be actively involved in testing and exercising security arrangements, supporting incident responses, and assisting senior team members with audits and quality assurance of security projects. Monitoring security KPIs and SLAs, developing strong relationships with internal and external stakeholders, and promoting a security-conscious culture across the business are also essential parts of the role.
Experience
- Experience in developing and writing reports with strong written communication skills.
- Experience in a related discipline such as risk management, protective security, technical or process management.
- Experience working in a regulated environment (utilities, government departments, national infrastructure) is desirable.
- Background in water industry, water engineering, or civil engineering is advantageous.

Qualifications
