About the Role
We redesigned our services and teams to ensure that we deliver on our promise to create a resident centric culture with a renewed focus on supporting independence and enhancing life chances whilst continuing to deliver safe, sustainable and quality homes for the future. Our Resident Relationship team is key to achieving our vision, designed to unlock the potential of our service users. The team will deliver bespoke support plans for residents and work with some of our most vulnerable households to provide the additional support needed to manage their tenancy and actively participate as part of their community. Working with partners across the council and the community, our Resident Relationship Officers will support residents irrespective of tenure, resolving and overcoming complex challenges. Through this newly created team, residents facing the greatest challenges in their life will have access to a single point of contact, who will guide, support, coach and empower them to carry out tasks associated with independent living, maximise access to benefits to ensure tenancy sustainment, reduce rent arrears and other debt, minimise anti-social behaviour, ensure residents have access to healthcare, arrange and facilitate access to community resources and social interaction, and actively work with residents to minimise social isolation. The Resident Relationship Officer will holistically support residents by working with households and individuals to ensure they have access to education, training and employment opportunities. The successful candidate must have a passion for helping residents in all aspects of their lives and be able to remain professional and non-judgemental when dealing with complex needs and case work. You will bring specialist knowledge to the team, including but not limited to experience of delivering positive outcomes in substance misuse support services, experience working in mental health services, and working with former offenders or those with complex needs. Access to the service will be primarily short to medium term; however, in some more complex cases, engagement with a resident may be long term.
