About the Role
Enfield Council has redesigned its services and teams to create a resident-centric culture focused on supporting independence and enhancing life chances while continuing to deliver safe, sustainable, and quality homes for the future. The Resident Relationship Team plays a key role in achieving this vision by unlocking the potential of service users through bespoke support plans. Resident Relationship Officers work with some of the most vulnerable households, providing additional support to help residents manage their tenancy and actively participate in their community.
Working collaboratively with partners across the council and community, Resident Relationship Officers support residents regardless of tenure, helping to resolve and overcome complex challenges. This newly created team offers residents facing significant life challenges a single point of contact who guides, supports, coaches, and empowers them to carry out tasks associated with independent living. Officers help maximise access to benefits to ensure tenancy sustainment, reduce rent arrears and other debts, minimise anti-social behaviour, facilitate access to healthcare and community resources, promote social interaction, and work actively to reduce social isolation.
The role also involves holistically supporting residents by connecting households and individuals with education, training, and employment opportunities. Engagement with residents is primarily short to medium term, with some cases requiring longer-term involvement.
Experience
Experience delivering positive outcomes in substance misuse support services, mental health services, working with former offenders, or supporting individuals with complex needs is essential. Proven ability to manage complex case work professionally and non-judgementally is required.
About you
You must have a passion for helping residents in all aspects of their lives and be able to maintain professionalism and empathy when dealing with complex needs. You will bring specialist knowledge to the team and demonstrate a commitment to empowering residents and fostering community participation.
Qualifications
Specific qualifications are not detailed, but relevant experience and a commitment to the role's responsibilities are critical.
