About the Role
We are seeking a Reward Partner (Job Families) to join our Pay and Reward Team on a fixed-term contract until June 2028, contributing to the Job Architecture project as part of the Council’s wider Pay & Reward Programme. This role supports the design, implementation, and embedding of Islington Council’s Job Families Framework, ensuring fairness, consistency, and transparency across the organisation.
Working closely with the Senior Reward Partner and Project Manager & Data Analyst, you will provide expert analytical input, produce high-quality documentation, and offer practical advice that supports organisational design, workforce planning, and equitable pay practices.
Key responsibilities include:
- Supporting the development and quality assurance of job family descriptors, level criteria, and guidance
- Analysing roles and supporting the mapping of jobs into job families
- Supporting the full job evaluation lifecycle, including evidence preparation, panels, and moderation
- Producing clear guidance, FAQs, process maps, and training materials
- Providing first-line specialist advice to managers and HR colleagues
- Maintaining accurate records, audit trails, and version control to ensure quality and compliance

Experience
Experience working in reward, job evaluation, or a related HR environment is essential, with a strong understanding of job evaluation principles and equal pay.
Experience drafting guidance, job evaluation training, or knowledge of local government HR practice would be advantageous.

You will be analytical, detail-focused, and confident in explaining technical concepts clearly. A collaborative and supportive approach is essential to work effectively with colleagues and stakeholders.
Qualifications
Relevant qualifications or training in reward, job evaluation, or HR would be beneficial but are not explicitly required.
