About the Role
As a Safeguarding Advisor, you will play a vital operational role within the UK Parliament’s Safeguarding Team, helping protect children and adults at risk across the House of Commons, House of Lords and Joint Departments. This is a unique opportunity to apply your safeguarding expertise in a high-profile environment, supporting effective casework and strengthening safeguarding practice across Parliament.
You will receive and manage safeguarding referrals and disclosures, maintain accurate case records, and liaise with statutory and multi-agency partners including the Police, Local Authority Designated Officers, and DBS. You will support safeguarding training, provide guidance to Parliamentary staff, and contribute to the Safeguarding Practitioner Network.
Alongside casework, you will take ownership of projects that improve safeguarding across Parliament, such as developing quality assurance frameworks and guidance, supporting DBS arrangements, and awareness campaigns. Working within a clear supervision and escalation framework, you will contribute to continuous improvement and meaningful organisational change.

Experience
- Handling safeguarding casework and referrals with strong administrative skills
- Liaising with external agencies and statutory partners
- Understanding of multi-agency safeguarding frameworks and key agencies such as Social Care and the Police
- Taking ownership of discrete pieces of work
About you
- Strong written and verbal communication skills with the ability to communicate sensitively and clearly
- Ability to exercise sound judgement in assessing and responding to safeguarding concerns
- Resilience and emotional maturity in challenging situations
Qualifications
A minimum of a Level 3 Safeguarding Qualification (or equivalent), with relevant professional qualifications in safeguarding or a closely related field
