About the Role
UNIQLO, a leading brand of the Fast Retailing Group and one of the largest apparel retailers globally, is recruiting a Menswear Senior Assistant Merchandiser to join the EU Merchandising Planning team based in London. Reporting directly to the Head of Merchandising for Menswear, you will work across functions at a European level, owning product categories within the menswear department. This role offers the opportunity to develop and implement the commercial strategy for the menswear collection.
You will be responsible for overseeing your division buying plan and ensuring consistent product management, identifying and interpreting market trends through research, and collaborating with Global Merchandising and Product Development teams in Tokyo to recommend products for the European market. You will review weekly sales figures, conduct sales and trend analysis to generate seasonal forecasts at SKU level, and translate demand insights into effective buy plans and order placements.
Additional responsibilities include agreeing on divisional budgets, seasonal pricing, markdowns, and promotional strategies with stores and merchandisers to meet profit targets; coordinating range assortments and delivery timing with Global Merchandising; reviewing delivery schedules with Production and Logistics to anticipate and resolve issues; optimizing store stocks to maximize profitability and product availability; coordinating layout plans and zoning across markets; maintaining close contact with stores to assess range impact and opportunities; and supporting the merchandise planning calendar to ensure deadlines are met.
Experience
Category management experience in a fashion merchandising role, preferably menswear. Strong understanding and application of merchandising principles and practices. Good knowledge of store operations and supply chain processes.
