Senior Clinical Fellow in Otology - Auditory Implantation & Skull Base
Location
London, primarily based at St Thomas' Hospital including The Evelina Children's Hospital. All adult surgery takes place at Guy's Hospital. On-call duties include some off-site emergency activity at King's College Hospital.
Hours
Full Time with on-call commitments at an experienced SpR level.
Salary
£73,992 per annum
About the Role
This one-year tenure position offers an excellent opportunity to gain extensive experience in Auditory Implant Surgery and advanced otology. The fellow will be strongly encouraged and supported to undertake clinical research within the Auditory Implant Centre. The role also involves some undergraduate and postgraduate teaching as well as participation in clinical audit. The post provides valuable exposure to complex otological surgery across multiple specialist sites, with a focus on auditory implantation and skull base procedures.
Experience
Candidates should have appropriate clinical and operative experience. UK applicants must have completed their Specialist Training program prior to the commencement of this post.
About you
Excellent communication skills demonstrated through application and interview. Candidates must be motivated to engage in clinical research and audit activities. Ability to work effectively within a multidisciplinary team and manage on-call responsibilities at an experienced SpR level.
Qualifications
All candidates must be registered with the GMC and hold MRCS Part 2 or equivalent. Publications demonstrating both an interest in the field and an ability to complete and write up research are essential. Non-UK/EEA applicants should be aware of recent changes to Immigration rules for Postgraduate Doctors and Dentists.
