Full Time - Flexible hours between 07:00 and 20:00, 5 days per week. The role requires participation in early and late shifts, weekend rota, and occasional festive period duties. Overtime compensation applies for work outside core hours including weekends.

About the Role
The Senior Clinical Support Worker in MRI Facilities is responsible for a variety of administrative, clerical, housekeeping, and clinical tasks supporting the Cardiovascular MRI imaging services. Key duties include greeting patients, performing initial ID checks, registering patient attendance on EPIC and CRF Manager patient management systems, and preparing patients for MRI examinations. The role involves providing care and support to patients and research participants during and after scans. Additional responsibilities include trolley checks, supporting stocking activities, and undertaking IV cannulation and cannula removal within the MRI environment. The post is critical to the smooth operation of the MRI facility, which houses 9 MRI scanners and a catheterisation lab, delivering clinical and research MRI services in cardiac, foetal, neonatal, and advanced brain imaging. The facility conducted over 7,800 clinical scans last year, with more than 4,500 involving research recruitment. This position aligns with the Society of Radiographers and NHS England Health Education guidance on diagnostic imaging support worker career pathways. The post holder will be expected to complete the Care Certificate and achieve Level 2 functional skills. This is a one-year full-time contract with potential extension, working entirely on site at St Thomas Hospital.
Experience
Experience in clinical support or healthcare settings is desirable but not mandatory. The role requires the ability to perform clinical tasks such as IV cannulation and patient preparation within an MRI environment.
