About the Role

The Trust includes five renowned hospitals and community services, delivering clinical excellence, research, and innovation. Following the merger with Royal Brompton and Harefield Hospitals, the Finance Directorate is undergoing significant change to create a unified finance function supporting the merged Trust.
This Senior Finance Officer role will support the Finance Directorate’s vision by ensuring a strong financial control environment, providing strategic financial advice, delivering management information for decision making, and promoting staff development. The role involves responsibility for the Private Patients billing function, including financial management, information management, staff leadership, IT support, and process improvement. You will work closely with consultants and department managers to establish billing processes for new services.

Experience
- Good experience and understanding of working in a high pressure office environment
- Experience of finance support or equivalent transferable experience
- Experience of using computer-based accounting and information management systems
- Desirable: Experience working within a hospital environment and some customer service experience
About you
- Good working knowledge of finance billing systems, coding structures, and financial control processes
- Proficient IT skills including Word, Excel, and Outlook
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Ability to work under pressure, prioritise and coordinate a varied workload to deadlines
- Ability to work effectively as part of a team
- Knowledge of administrative procedures including IT systems
- Highly organised with excellent attention to detail
- Desirable: Experience using Compucare software
Qualifications
- Essential: Certificate Level/Association of Accounting Technicians (AAT) Member or equivalent experience
- Essential: European Computer Driving License (ECDL) Advanced Level or equivalent experience
