About the Role
The Senior Finance Operations Manager is an experienced people leader responsible for overseeing management accounting and financial reporting across Kaluza's international footprint. This role covers multiple jurisdictions including the UK, Portugal, France, Japan, and the US, and reports directly to the Financial Controller. You will be the primary contact for internal teams on all finance operations matters, ensuring smooth function management and driving process improvements globally.
Key objectives include maintaining financial control to ensure resources are accurately directed and monitored, and creating value through efficient processes and AI frameworks.
Key responsibilities:
Financial Reporting
- Manage month-end and year-end close processes, prepare monthly management accounts, and contribute to Board reporting packs.
- Consolidate global results with meaningful analysis for the Board, Executive team, and external stakeholders.
- Review and prepare balance sheet reconciliations and technical accounting papers under IFRS.
- Manage compliance with international tax obligations including VAT, payroll taxes, and employee-related taxes alongside the Tax Manager.
- Prepare and review workpapers for annual statutory accounts, act as key contact for external auditors, and support the Group audit process.
- Support set-up of new international business financial systems and processes, including entity reporting.
Finance Operations
- Oversee accounts payable/accounts receivable, journal posting, accruals review, and balance sheet ownership.
- Maintain financial internal controls and produce monthly KPI reporting.
- Own payroll controls framework alongside Payroll Manager, overseeing Global Payroll Operations and provider relationships.
- Review process automation and support FinOps projects and workflow monitoring.
People and Leadership
- Coach, lead, and develop the FinOps and Payroll team with effective performance management and career development.
- Set clear goals, align people and resources to solve complex problems.
- Collaborate with People Operations and other leaders to champion alignment and cross-functional teamwork.
- Contribute actively to building a positive culture, including organising or leading team activities.

Experience
- Qualified accountant (ACA, CIMA, or ACCA) with at least five years post-qualification experience.
- Experience in accounting and company administration across multiple jurisdictions under IFRS.
- Proven commercial and entrepreneurial mindset with initiative to propose and implement change in a fast-moving environment.
- Strong presentation, relationship-building, and conflict resolution skills with senior stakeholders.
- Ability to apply analytical skills beyond traditional finance functions to commercial issues.

Qualifications
- ACA, CIMA, or ACCA qualified accountant.
