About the Role
We are seeking an imaginative and motivated Senior Graphic Designer on a fixed-term contract to provide career break cover within the Creative department. This department delivers creative, effective, and accessible design solutions across a wide range of projects to a global audience, aligned with the National Gallery’s brand values and strategic objectives. The Senior Graphic Designer will play a key role as both a highly creative designer and an inspiring manager to a team of talented graphic designers. You will be a team player with an excellent eye for detail, a creative and innovative vision, and a strong understanding of brand importance. Strong diplomatic and communication skills are essential. You will have experience designing for museums, galleries, or similar environments and leading a small team. Your work will include creating visitor-focused, inclusive designs across multiple outputs such as exhibition design, marketing campaigns, wayfinding, learning resources, and fundraising collateral, managing projects from initial concept through to delivery. This is a fixed-term contract for up to 12 months.

Experience
Proven experience as a senior graphic designer, ideally within museums, galleries, or similar cultural environments. Demonstrated ability to lead a small design team and deliver creative, visitor-focused, inclusive design solutions across multiple outputs including exhibitions, marketing campaigns, wayfinding, learning resources, and fundraising collateral.

Qualifications
